Shayna Klassen, B.A. brings twenty years of mental and behavioral health experience, concentrating in youth residential treatment services, public behavioral health, and curriculum development and instruction to her role with the QPR Institute, as the National Training Director. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology, and has extensive experience in training, prevention, intervention and postvention, and the public health approach to mental health and suicide prevention. She has a strong personal and professional passion for mental and behavioral health and substance abuse treatment, as well as lived experience. Shayna’s devotion to suicide prevention comes from her personal experience as a person with 21 years of recovery from drug and alcohol abuse, a suicide loss survivor and suicide attempt survivor. She has channeled her passion to abolishing the stigma of mental and behavioral health diagnoses and to remind folks that recovery is possible. Shayna has dedicated her work to educating communities and providing connections to resources needed to foster a safe and informed environment that promotes resiliency.
